Amongst the other energy savings options it has on offer, Marina d´Or Energías Renovables is able to include in its financial-technical proposal the inclusion of CHP units.
The objective of a Combined Heat and Power system is to install a motor, use it to generate electricity, capture the heat that it generates, use it and distribute it.
Therefore we are selling electricity at the same time that we are creating heat or, in other words, we are "cogenerating". An especially profitable combination in many buildings is combining CHP systems with Absorption chillers to produce cooling or air conditioning. Given the wide variety of engines available we work by designing and establishing personalized business plans.
This technology is designed for smaller installations, residential blocks or places where engines sized between 1 and 100 KW can run for many hours per year. Micro CHP is especially indicated in Domestic Hot Water production given its relatively constant energy use throughout the year. The evolution of the technology and its integration into architectural design over the last 15 years are such that its installation has become more than a simple business option or a way to save money, but rather has become a symbol of sustainability and modernity.
Absorption chillers are an intelligent way to use the residual heat produced by other technologies by transforming it into cooling.
The profitability of an absorption chiller is studied on a case by case basis, but its energetic and ecological virtues are indubitable.
Combining absorption chillers with combined heat and power and Mini CHP systems, as well as with biomass boilers, allows us to produce, together with the hot water generated by those systems, chilled water at no additional energy cost, a perfect way to air condition installations and companies.
